Deirdre Welborn

Associate Professor of Music in The South Carolina School of the Arts at Anderson University

For over thirty five years, Deirdre Welborn, soprano, has enjoyed a diverse musical career as a performer, teacher, conductor, and church musician. As a soprano, she enjoys performing in many genres and styles including art song, oratorio, musical theater, jazz and worship. She is a specialist in teaching healthy singing in all styles and is passionate about promoting vocal health among performers, music teachers and worship leaders. Welborn is an Associate Professor of Music at the South Carolina School of the Arts at Anderson University where she has served on the music faculty for over 25 years. At AU she teaches voice (including classical, music theater, commercial music and worship leadership majors) as well as vocal pedagogy, vocal diction, and conducts the Anderson University Women’s Choir. Welborn received the Associate of Fine Arts degree in Music from Anderson College, the Bachelor of Music Education degree from Furman University, and the Master of Music degree from Westminster Choir College of Rider University where she was a soprano in the world-renowned Westminster Choir.

And as always we will have our delicious cakes for dessert, all in the beautiful setting of the Old Stone Church. This has become an annual tradition in our community and beyond.
